ePropulsion E57 — E-Series Battery Overcurrent
General · EP-E57
Root Cause
Battery discharge current exceeded safe limit. In parallel battery configurations, voltage imbalance between batteries causes one unit to bear excessive current. Poor cable connections also increase resistance and trigger overcurrent detection.
Symptoms
E57 error code displayedmotor shutdown under high loadparallel battery voltage imbalancepoor cable contact
Conditions
  • ePropulsion Navy motor with E-series battery
  • parallel battery installation with voltage difference greater than 2V
  • loose or corroded power cable connections
Solution
Balance battery voltages in parallel configurations. Ensure all cable connections are firm. Restart battery after fault. Avoid full-power operation until batteries are balanced.
Actions
  • Check voltage of all parallel batteries — difference should be within 2V
  • Inspect and tighten all power cable connections
  • Restart battery and allow 30 minutes in parallel for self-balancing
  • Avoid full-power operation until batteries have equalised
  • After recovery, do not exceed two-thirds of full power until fully charged
  • Fully charge all batteries after incident
  • If fault recurs, contact ePropulsion dealer
